With 15 years experience as a fully qualified Ofsted and PACEY registered childminder, Nikki's Nippers provides a loving, nurturing environment for your child to learn and develop. A home based setting provides a safe, friendly atmosphere and our philosophy of learning through play means your child will not only have lots of fun, but will also develop the skills necessary to help them as they grow.
Based in the charming market town of Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire, Nikki's Nippers offers full and part time child care between the hours of 8am and 6pm (care available outside of these hours - please call to discuss your requirements with us). Our location means we are ideally suited for anyone living in Chipping Sodbury, Yate, Old Sodbury and the surrounding area. We are just a short walk from both St John Meads Primary School and Chipping Sodbury Secondary School and can also offer school 'drop off' and 'pick ups' from other local schools, nurseries and pre-schools.
At Nikki's Nippers we encourage children to learn through play by providing a wide range of stimulating and challenging environments and activities. Within our setting children have access to a range of large and small outdoor play equipment (see the Our Setting page for more information and images), sand and water play, dressing up costumes, painting, drawing and craft materials, books, games and many more toys and resources. We attend numerous social and toddler groups and undertake trips to local parks, zoos and activity centres, where your child has the opportunity to experience and interact with the world around them. Founded in 2000 by Nikki Farrell, Nikki's Nippers has developed a strong reputation for providing excellent child care services. Our continued success means Nikki's husband, Pete, became a full time childminder in 2012 (he previously worked as her assistant for 18 months). Working together has allowed the setting to improve and increase our services still further. Nikki has obtained an NVQ Level 3 in 'Children's Care & Learning Development', as well as completing courses in First Aid Paediatrics, Child Protection and Healthy Eating. Pete has completed the 'Introduction to Home-based Child Care' course run by the local council as well as completing courses in First Aid Paediatrics and Child Protection. Both Nikki and Pete have completed numerous training courses run by the local council, are registered with Ofsted and PACEY and have had DBS Checks. To learn more about Nikki and Pete please see the About Nikki & Pete page.
As well as providing an excellent environment for children to learn and develop, Nikki's Nippers are passionate about encouraging children to make healthy lifestyle choices. Children who attend our setting have access to a wide range of locally sourced, home cooked hot and cold meals and children are encouraged to think and eat healthily by growing fresh fruit and vegetables, helping to prepare meals and learning about where our food comes from. From November 2014 Nikki's Nippers will have spaces on Monday and Thursday. Please call today to find out more. If you require childcare on alternative days please call and we will do all we can to accommodate you.
